Edmonton Catholic School Division: Employer withdraws standby proposal

Your negotiating team met with Edmonton Catholic School Division (ECSD) on Nov. 3 to continue bargaining. ECSD wanted to cancel this bargaining meeting over concerns about the teachers’ transition back to work. We told the employer we could not accept this delay, and the meeting went ahead as scheduled.

We focused our discussions on the standby and callback process. We let the employer know our members gave us clear instructions to maintain the current callback process in our August 28 survey and at our September bargaining update meeting. ECSD withdrew their standby proposal and agreed to continue with the existing process. 

Our next bargaining dates are scheduled for November 24 and 25.
