Lakeland College: Progress made on non-monetary articles

Your negotiating team made significant progress when we resumed bargaining with the employer on Nov. 17 and 18.

We shared proposals for all outstanding articles. The employer’s team said they appreciated the hard work we had done in preparing this package. 

We signed off nine articles, including extending casual illness leave to five days from three days and a complete rewrite of grievance procedure language to increase clarity.

Changes agreed to at the bargaining table do not take effect until we ratify the final agreement.

Our next meeting is on Feb. 9, 2026. By then, the employer will have costed our monetary proposals and be able to respond.
