AUPE’s Pension Committee is offering information sessions for members who belong to LAPP.
AUPE and LAPP are committed to helping members learn about their pensions and plan for retirement.
There are 10 sessions you can sign up for.

The topics and dates/times of these sessions are listed below:
Get Ready to Start Your LAPP Pension includes information about how your pension is calculated, early retirement, retirement options, pension projection calculation, and the retirement application process.
Thewebinar is offered on the dates and times listed below:
- Wednesday, September 10 | 1:00 to 2:30 pm
- Thursday, October 16 | 9:00 to 10:30 am
- Wednesday, November 12 | 9:00 to 10:30 am
Increase Your LAPP Pension provides information about leaves of absence (purchased within the deadline), optional service, and payment options.
The webinar is offered on the dates and times listed below:
- Tuesday, September 30 |9:00 to 10:00 am
Tuesday, October 21 |9:00 to 10:00 am
Wednesday, November 19 |1:00 - 2:00 pm
Your Life with LAPP will guide you through using the pension estimator tool and understanding your lifetime monthly payments. You'll learn how to maintain your LAPP pension during job changes, health challenges, or other life events. The session also explores ways to increase your pension by purchasing service, including eligible leaves, payment options, deadlines, and transfer opportunities.
The in-person session is offered on the dates and times listed below:
- Calgary - Tuesday, September 23 | 5:30 to 8:00 pm
- Red Deer - Thursday, November 6 | 5:00 - 7:30pm

Time-off entitlement
Members can receive paid time off for the duration of the sessions:
- 1.5 hours for the webinars on Get Ready to Start Your LAPP Pension
- 1.0 hour for the webinars on Increase Your LAPP Pension
- Up to 4 hours for the in-person session Your Life with LAPP.
No other expenses are covered.
