Your newly elected negotiating team met for the first time on August 8. We began our training and prepared to bargain for our first collective agreement.* We left the meeting better informed and optimistic about our next steps, which includes our first bargaining survey.

Fill out your bargaining survey

We want to address all your concerns and needs to improve our wages and working conditions. But the only way to do that is for everyone to fill out our important bargaining survey. 

Get a paper copy of the survey from a member of your negotiating team (listed below). Surveys are due by Friday, August 22.

We need everyone’s input! We need to know what’s important to you so we can create our proposals. This is our first contract, meaning it will set the foundation for all future negotiations.

Your negotiating team will meet again on August 23 to discuss the survey results and determine our priorities. We will use your responses to write our first proposals and start negotiations with the employer.

*What’s a collective agreement?

A collective agreement is a legally binding contract between a group of workers (in a union) and their employer. It’s a long document that outlines working conditions and protocols, like wages, health benefits, sick leave, how scheduling happens, and what to do if the employer doesn’t follow the collective agreement. It includes everything both the employer and the union agree to during negotiations.
