Optima Aspen Ridge: Bargaining picks back up following employer rep replacement

Bargaining update for Local 047 Chapter 041, Optima Aspen Ridge

Sep 08, 2025

Text only block

Your negotiating team thanks members for your patience after a long delay in bargaining due to Optima Aspen Ridge’s replacing their negotiations spokesperson.

While the break in bargaining meetings is not ideal, when we met on Aug. 27 and 28 your negotiating team felt the new spokesperson set a more productive tone.

We reiterated the need for wage breakthroughs for both Nursing Care and General Support Services members.

The employer will present a comprehensive proposal for settlement by Sept. 11, 2025.

Your team will review this proposal and respond when we meet with the employer again on Oct. 3 (with Oct. 17 booked in case more time is needed).

Wear red on Oct. 3

We need to show Optima Aspen Ridge that we are united, strong, and paying attention. If you take any photos of you and your coworkers dressed in red, send them to photos@aupe.org so we can share them on AUPE’s social media and spread solidarity.

We will keep pushing for a fair agreement that meets your priorities.

If you have any questions or concerns about this bargaining update, please contact a member of your negotiating team.
