International Day of Older Persons: Strike a Change for Alberta Seniors Forum

In just four days the AUPE Women’s Committee and Friends of Medicare are co-hosting a panel discussion on the International Day of Older Persons at AUPE Headquarters. If you work in seniors care, are a caretaker or an advocate – this forum is for you!

Wednesday, October 1, 2025 
10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  
Lunch will be provided

Discussions will be led by experts like:

• Dr. Paul Parks, the former president of Alberta Medical Association
• Dr. Janna Klostermann, assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and specializes in paid and unpaid care work.  
• Chris Gallaway, the executive director of Friends of Medicare  

There will also be a panel discussion with seniors who can speak to their experiences in care as well as a workers who are on the frontlines of Continuing Care.
