AGLC: Non-monetary bargaining wraps up

Bargaining for wages begins in October

Our Sept. 19 bargaining meetings were very productive, and we signed off on our remaining non-monetary articles. We will begin bargaining for wages when we meet with the employer on Oct. 28.

We signed off on the following articles without changes:

Article 13 - Employee Performance Review

Article 15 - Hours of Work

Article 17 - Overtime

Article 17A - Stand-By Pay

Article 24 - Job Opportunities

Article 37 - Recognition of Service

Article 45 - Part-time Employees

Article 46 - Casual Employees

Article 47 - Temporary Employees

LOU - Workload

We also signed off the articles below with the following improvements:

Article 14 – Attendance: added language to clarify the process of notifying the employer of an absence after the fact for special circumstances

Article 42 - Disciplinary Action/Purged Files: added language that addresses investigations being completed in a timely manner. Reduces the time disciplinary records remain on file from 30 to 24 months. Disciplinary record will be cleared after 24 months without incident.

LOU - Alternate Work Arrangements (AWA): maintains the AWA Committee for consultation on alternate work arrangements
