Strathcona County: Talks resume, employer makes monetary offer

Bargaining update for Local 118 Chapter 009, Strathcona County

Nov 14, 2025

Text only block

Negotiations resumed on Oct. 1-2 and again on Nov. 3-4, and we have received a monetary proposal from the employer.

Unfortunately, while there has been some movement on issues we had raised, the monetary proposal was a long way from what we need, with wage increases of 3% in 2025, 2% in 2026 and 2% in 2027.

Negotiations were collaborative and we will return to the bargaining table on Jan. 12-13, when we will present a counteroffer that highlights our priorities, including wages.

Note on medical notes

If a supervisor asks for a medical note for casual or general illness, members can choose to provide the note either to their supervisor or to disability management.

If you have questions, please contact a member of your negotiating team.
