Emcon: New bargaining meetings scheduled

Your team and Emcon have scheduled bargaining meetings on October 15 and 16. We are prepared to continue fighting for the wages and benefits we deserve.

We have heard Emcon use their low bids on Contract Management Areas (CMA) as justification for their lowball offer. We know that new contract awards were announced. We will meet with Emcon soon to discuss the impact of these contract awards on the bargaining process.  

We all know that our negotiations are impacted by negotiations with the Government of Alberta (GOA) and our fellow AUPE members.  

Clear timelines are set for AUPE members bargaining with the government. They will either have a tentative agreement or go on strike by early September. You can find details on GOA bargaining by clicking here.

Whatever happens in that separate round of bargaining, we believe we will have a lot more to work with the next time we meet our employer in October.
