Bargaining update for Local 084 Chapter 006, Compass Group - Hospitality

Employer shows respect; comes prepared to bargain

Text only block

Your negotiating team met with Compass Group on July 24 to begin bargaining. We exchanged our non-wage related proposals and were pleased with the employer’s response.

The Compass Group was respectful and came prepared to bargain, which led to a very productive meeting. We signed off on language improvements to 35 articles as a result.

Key improvements include:

  • Investigation outcomes - timelines reduced from 90 to 30 days.
  • Advancement - clarified language that states employees cannot be held in their positions for any specific duration.
  • Scheduling - employees can no longer be scheduled to work seven consecutive days.
  • Overtime - established a clear process for offering overtime.
  • Seniority - reached an agreement in principle on seniority, with language to be improved for accuracy.

Your negotiating team is working to schedule dates in September to present our wage proposals. Our ingoing wage proposals have market adjustments to get our wages in line with industry standards.
