Athabasca University: Bargaining moving in positive direction

Your negotiating team met with Athabasca University (AU) on Nov. 5 to continue bargaining. The meetings were productive, and we are optimistic about how bargaining is progressing. 

The employer came prepared with a counteroffer to our Oct. 21 proposal. They moved their position on two of our key priorities. 

The meetings proceeded at a quick back-and-forth pace which allowed us to respond to the employer’s counteroffer the same day. We again made it clear that a wage grid is one of our top demands. The employer indicated they would explore the possibility of the wage grid but needed time to review our proposal. 

Our next bargaining dates have not yet been scheduled. We will update you when we have confirmed dates.
