Public service hiring freeze will hurt already struggling front line

EDMONTON – Finance Minister Joe Ceci's announcement that the provincial government will implement a public service hiring freeze will only put more pressure on an already struggling front line, making the services Albertans depend on suffer and cost more as a result, Alberta Union of Provincial Employees President Guy Smith said Tuesday.
