AHS GSS: Update from mediation—create your MyAUPE account!

Your negotiating team met with AHS and our mediator on October 31 and November 1, 2, and 5 for more bargaining meetings.

Bargaining with our employer is a real struggle. We have made almost no progress. Our employer shows us no dignity and no respect.  

We are at a crossroads. This is serious.

General Support Services is the backbone of public health care. Without us, hospitals could not open their doors or keep the lights on—literally. This is how important we are, but AHS refuses to offer us the wages, benefits, and job security we deserve.

The cost of living keeps going up, but our wages have not risen at the same rate!  

This graph shows how inflation and our wages have gone up since 2015. The cost of living is higher than ever. We deserve serious raises that keep up.

We will meet again on November 12 for more mediation. Your team will continue working hard to force AHS to make progress.

We all know what is at stake. We must be prepared to take action if we do not reach a good deal at the bargaining table.

Create a MyAUPE account today. MyAUPE is how you will vote on our future contract. MyAUPE is also how you will participate in a possible strike vote, as well as collect strike pay quickly if we are forced to take action.

We have the legal right to strike if that is what the members decide. We are not at this point yet, but members should know that a strike would be entirely legal and your jobs would be protected. Members who spend 30 per week on the strike line also receive $700 in tax-free, weekly strike pay from AUPE.
